I intended this blog to be mostly about my kids but Darren is a big part of our lives so he is bound to end up in here somewhere.
Last night, we were talking about how it's hard to keep the house clean and Darren said "It's not so bad, all we need to do is pick up a bit and broom the floor."
I must have given him a funny look because he said "we have a broom, we need to broom the floor." Ok....since when is "broom" a verb? LOL!!! I just started laughing. He said he was channeling his old-time talk. I have never heard anyone say they were going to "broom a floor."

MindFlex and a gluey mess...
I get emails every day from a couple different crafing companies. One email last week was a link to what was supposed to be kid-friendly ornament crafts. I thought it would be a good idea to make ornaments as gifts.
One craft used water balloons, glue, and string or yarn. Easy, right? Ha! I bought the water balloons and Darren blew up a bunch of them. Daniel discovered that if they had a little static, they would stick to him and the leather furniture. I guess he had never played with static and balloons? He spent 2 days rubbing the balloons on his head and sticking them to anything and everything. He kept saying he was going to "MindFlex" the balloons. MindFlex is a new game out this year where you try to control things with your mind. He thought he was doing that with the balloons!
We tried the craft on Sunday. It did make a mess. We were supposed to soak 10-inch pieces of string in a glue-water mix, squeeze off the excess glue and wrap the string around the balloons. Once the string dried, we were supposed to pop the balloon and we should have a ball made out of the string we could hang on the tree.
Only 1 of them turned out so far. The others all collapsed when the balloon was popped because the string was stuck to the balloon. I think the yarn we used was too thick. I am going to get some embroidery floss and try that.
The kids had fun, though. They had glue all over their hands!

Welcome!
Time is going by way too fast. There are so many little things that happen every day that I know I won't remember 10 years from now. So I am starting this blog so I can post the daily funny things my kids say and do.
A little background.... I have 2 kids - Daniel (5) and Rebekah (almost 9). My sister has 2 kids also - Molly (4 1/2) and Micah (3). Her third, Miryam, is on the way, expected in late December. Our kids have grown up together at their TG's house (my mom). Mom has watched them all since birth. Molly and Daniel are in preschool together.
Today, my sister texts me the following - "Molly told me that Abigail want to marry Daniel but she did not like that so she would let Allison (the one with 2 L's)." Daniel's response to that "awww man! Now I have to marry Molly, Abigail, and 2 Alisons!"
